Outside My Window

Outside my window today

The sky is blue

Bluer than I remember it being

On a usually cold November morn

And perhaps that is because

It isn't cold

A balmy 65 degrees

The target for today

Grateful, I am

For the blue, blue sky

The lack of clouds

The lack of snow

And yet... I yearn for that snow...

A simple sign of the season

For now, though,

I will drink in the blue sky

And bask in the uninterrupted sun

From a cloudless sky

And remember days gone by

When I wished for the sun to shine
